This premium experience will whisk you and your friends to the wonderful Temecula Valley Wine Region in our luxurious Mercedes Van. We start our morning drive off with coffee and pastries. When we arrive in the valley we will begin our tasting adventure.

We will have a private guided tour of the wine making process that will teach you the secrets of wine making and then the fun begins with tastings at three beautiful and popular wineries. During our visit we will also stop for a wonderful picnic lunch at one of these unique properties.

Our tours are not just about the wine. We will also stop in quaint and historic Old Town Temecula, where you can browse a few shops and take in the local art galleries. We will also stop and enjoy a delicious Olive Oil tasting from a local family owned business.

Then with a glorious day of wine tasting, food, and making new friends behind us we travel back to our starting point.

Offered on Sundays only. Enjoy a day away from LA on this delicious and decadent wine tasting adventure. We will whisk you and your group to our wonderful local Temecula Valley Wine region in our luxurious Mercedes van.

We will start our adventure off with a wonderful Champagne and Wine Tasting at Thornton Winery, followed by a delicious Sunday Brunch at Café Champagne in the Temecula Valley. More…..

We will follow that up with two more exciting and beautiful wine tasting stops in the valley.

FAQ’s

All Temecula Trips

Are reservations required?
Yes. Due to how quickly our adventures book up we require reservations. Since we provide breakfast and lunch we need to know you’re coming. Occasionally we will have extra space to add on a last minute guest.

Where do we start our Adventure?
For our public trips we depart from Santa Monica. For larger private groups, we can arrange a pickup location for you. Pick up locations will be provided after you purchase your tickets

What is the start and end time of your Adventure?
We start promptly at 8:30am. Since this is Los Angeles - the traffic capital of the world and this is from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara the return time can vary. But we are usually back by 5pm depending on traffic.

How many guests will be on your Adventure?
Part of what makes Local Travel Adventures amazing is that we are a small group and private Adventure company. We will never have more than 12 guests on any Adventure. Also because we are wine tasting we don’t recommend children. (On private Adventures children are welcome.)

What is included in your Adventure?
Transportation in our luxurious Mercedes Van, coffee and a breakfast snack, water, gourmet lunch, and all wine tastings. Plus some surprises along the way.

What type of lunch is provided?
Depending on the adventure we will either have a wonderful packaged lunch of gourmet sandwiches and cheeses, or we will be dining at a local winery or restaurant. Please let us know of any food requirements that you may have.

Are Gratuities included?
No, we leave that up to you. Our staff works very hard and is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are your “locals” local. We recommend a thank you gratuity of 15%-18%. We know they have earned it. Our private tours require an 18% service charge.

What type of Wineries will we visit?
There are over 40 wineries and tasting rooms throughout the valley. Our job is to simplify that into a wonderful tasting adventure. We choose only the highest rated wineries, with the best and most friendly staff and beautiful grounds. We vary our trips based on what is being highlighted and poured by the wineries so it is always changing. If you book a private tour we can arrange to go to any wineries that you choose. It can be customized.

How many wineries will we visit?
Normally we visit three to four great wineries. With private groups we can modify to your liking. We can do three and add a visit to a local attraction, or if you really want to taste, we can hit five but don’t really recommend it as wine tasting is an amazing experience not to be rushed.

Are there Wine Tasting Fees?
The more exclusive wineries charge anywhere from $10 - $25 per person as a tasting fee. But because you are with us… it’s included. Plus we get special treatment and surprises.

Should you buy some wine while we are there?
It is up to you. We always suggest purchasing if you fall in love with one or two. Many of the wines are only offered at the wineries and cannot be found elsewhere. This is why we do suggest that you look into joining one of the clubs. We will suggest our favorites, but it is always up to you.

What should we bring and wear?
The Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez Valley area has several micro climates. Depending on the time of year it can be from the 50’s (10 Celsius) to 100+ (35+ Celsius) degrees. Inside the wineries and on the wine tours it can be a bit chilly. Our Mercedes vans also have great AC so if you chill easily you might want to bring a small sweater or jacket. Other items include a hat for the sun and comfortable walking shoes. Sandals are ok, but we would recommend staying away from high heels. And don’t forget that smart phone or camera to capture the memories. Check our website for the weather forecast. We go rain or shine.

Do our rates vary throughout the year?
Very seldom do we change our rates. Weekends are a bit higher and also during the peak harvest and crush seasons.
